A summertime essential for New Yorkers and especially Long Islanders is to catch one of the many Jones Beach concerts that take place all summer long at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh. With as many shows and artists as they host, there is sure to be a concert that fits just about anyone’s musical interests. Jones Beach concerts are the perfect summer activity for the whole family, a night out with friends, or even a date night.

The Joy of Jones Beach Concerts

Making a Day of It

The Beach

It’s common knowledge that the beaches are Long Island’s biggest attraction. A day at the beach is a summer tradition for all Long Islanders and even those who travel to spend a day on our shores.

The Tailgate

After a day of soaking up the sun, the next step would be to get a bunch of friends and family together for a big tailgate in the amphitheater parking lot. Bring the portable grill, load up on groceries, and fill the cooler. Rig the car stereo up with tunes from the night’s performers and you’ll have yourself the ideal pregame.

The Concert

The highlight of the evening is going to be the concert itself. From just about every seat in the theater, you will have a great view, enhanced by acoustics that you won’t be able to find at any other outdoor venue.

Imagine twilight just as the sun is going down. The sky is lit up and the beach’s shoreline is the backdrop. Just add in music from your favorite artist in the background and you have yourself the quintessential Jones Beach concert experience. Other concertgoers are always in a good mood and the ushers are accommodating and very friendly. You’re not going to find any better atmosphere for a concert during the summer.
