There’s still plenty of fun to be had in the last few weeks of summer, and the Nassau County Parks are making sure you have ample opportunities to get out and enjoy the weather while it’s still warm! Between Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, Hempstead Lake State Park in West Hempstead, and Michael J. Tully Park in New Hyde Park, there’s at least one event going on nearly every day this month! Long Island State Parks Children’s Summer Performances
This is a series of opportunities for families to enjoy free, fun, and interactive entertainment at local parks throughout Long Island. When you bring your family out to the park, don’t forget to bring your own chairs or blankets so that you have a comfy seat for the show!

The Italian Festival
Wed-Fri 6-11PM, Sat 3-11PM, Sun 3-10PM
A community event that honors Italian heritage. There will be an international food court, Las Vegas games of chance, thrilling rides and games, as well as a live DJ on weekend afternoons, live performances on evenings, and a fireworks show on Saturday night! From 3-5PM on Sunday they’ll be offering free admission and ½ price pasta dishes to show their appreciation for the community. Admission to the festival is $1, and children under 8 are free!
Following the theme of cultural events, catch the tail-end of the series of heritage nights that have been going on at Eisenhower Park! Admission is free for all events.

Street Fair in the Park
August 30-31 – Use the entrance by Merrick Ave. and Stewart Ave., and park in Field 8 for free for the street fair! Admission is free, and there will be a whole assortment of unique items for sale. A great family-friendly shopping opportunity!
Lakeside Concert Series
Last month we brought you The Only List You Need for ALL Free Outdoor Concerts in Nassau County, but let’s round out the rest of the Lakeside Concerts series here for the month of August. All Concerts are FREE, begin at 7PM, and parking is available in Fields 6 and 6A.
