Thanksgiving Recipes

Everyone’s familiar with the traditional Thanksgiving foods: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. However, you may want to try some new recipes to make Thanksgiving a little more interesting. A while back, we wrote a blog about great pumpkin beer and desserts which are perfect for the holiday, but we’re back again with even more Thanksgiving recipes to freshen up the same old meals.

Thanksgiving Recipes for Unique Side Dishes

Stuffing Muffins

Stuffing is an essential component of any Thanksgiving dinner. If you’re sick of the same old stuffing, try out this stuffing muffins recipe, which makes the classic, carb-heavy meal everyone loves into a fun finger-food.

Sweet Potatoes with Pecans and Parmesan

Plenty of times you’ll see sweet potatoes as a side dish, maybe even sometimes with marshmallow. Out of all the Thanksgiving recipes we’ve seen for sweet potatoes, this one is the best. The flavor of the sweet potatoes mixed with parmesan is truly excellent, and the pecans add a little extra crunchy texture.

Balsamic Green Beans

Green beans by themselves are a bit bland, but when you add some balsamic vinegar, crumbled bacon, fried shallots and chopped almonds, you’ll have plenty of savory flavors to enjoy. Get the recipe for balsamic green beans here. If you want to add a little extra to this recipe, throw in some chopped mushrooms, too.

Mashed Potatoes with Roasted Garlic and Mascarpone Cheese

This refreshing mashed potato recipe comes from celebrity chef Bobby Flay. The garlic and cheese lend some flavor to otherwise tasteless mashed potatoes. These will be even better with some gravy!

Creamy Carrot Soup with Scallions and Poppy Seeds

Soup is a perfect food to cook for Thanksgiving dinner, because it could be made in advance, then reheated and served very quickly. You can find the recipe here.

Unusual Thanksgiving Dessert Recipes

Nutmeg Ice Cream

Sure, vanilla ice cream goes great with any warm piece of pie, but if you want to add a little fall flare, try some nutmeg ice cream. You can find the recipe here (it’s not nearly as hard to make your own ice cream as you may think).

Cream Puffs with Praline Sauce and Toasted Pecans

There’s no need for us to explain why we recommended this dessert. It’s just incredible. Check out the recipe here.

With these unique Thanksgiving recipes, you’ll be able to bring some new ideas to the table, literally. If you’re too full from all these delicious foods to drive yourself home, give All Island Transportation a call at a location near you or make a reservation online.
