From the beginning of the summer until the fall, you’ll find farmers markets sprouting up across Long Island. Full of local produce and artisanal foods you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere, these Long Island farmers markets are always worth a visit.

Amityville Farmers Market

The Amityville Farmers Market is open from 9 am - 1 pm in the 9/11 Memorial Parking lot on Saturdays until September 26. From fresh organic produce straight out of Thera Farms to homemade breads from Darcy’s Delights, the Amityville Farmers Market is sure to have a treat you’ll love to take back to your kitchen.

Kings Park Farmers Market

In Municipal Lot 25A on Main Street, you’ll find the Kings Park Farmers Market from 9 am - 2 pm on Sundays until November 22. On a trip to the Kings Park Farmers Market, you can come away with preserves from Miss Amy’s, artisanal baked goods from Raquette River Baking Co. or craft beers from the Saint James Brewery. The wide range of vendors that frequent the Kings Park location make it one of the most exciting Long Island farmers markets.

Deer Park Farmers Market

Spending some time at the Deer Park Farmers Market is the perfect way to kick off your day. Open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am - 3 pm, the Deer Park Farmers Market can be found at the Tanger Outlets until a date in November that has not yet been determined. Its location makes it a perfect place to pick up a snack after a long day shopping at the outlets.

Port Washington Farmers Market

The Port Washington Farmers Market is open from 8 am - 12 pm on Saturdays until November 22. It is the only 100 percent organic farmers market in New York State. At the Port Washington Farmers Market you’ll find a plethora of produce, goat cheese, honey, bread and coffee. This market is a project of Grassroots Environmental Education, a non-profit organization that seeks to educate the public about sustainable living.
