Located across from the Wantagh train station, The Cup Coffeehouse is a quaint café that’s great for all kinds of small gatherings. Between the cozy indoor room and backyard porch, you’re bound to see great live musicians on any given day. They even host open-mic contests on certain nights.
The Cup also has a bunch of board games to keep you busy. Their menu has all kinds of unique coffees and teas as well as small plates and tasty desserts. House favorites include their Smushed Pie in a Mug and Spicy Buffalo Chicken Dip.
Costa Nova Waffle
Costa Nova Waffle is bringing old-school Portugal beachside vibes to the heart of Mineola. Modeled after the coastal waffle stands on the shores of Aveiro, Costa Nova offers a wide range of specialty coffees like Galāo, Nutella Latte or their Caramel Macchiato. However, they’re better known for their waffles done either bolacha, crispy, or tripa, which is a soft style. Aside from fruit and candy, you can get waffles with jam, s’mores and custard toppings as well.
The Witches Brew
If you’re looking for a great place to spend time with friends, head over to West Hempstead and check out The Witches Brew. In an old, renovated home, The Witches Brew is decorated with vintage, sometimes even spooky, décor. They have tons of signature coffees, teas and treats to satisfy your sweet tooth. They don’t have a parking lot, so plan ahead wisely.

For the more seasoned coffee drinkers, Kookaburra Coffee Company is the place for you. Situated down the block from the Rockville Centre train station, Kookaburra accommodates both commuters and just plain old coffee fans. The beans for their brews are picked specially and made with care. You can try their Colombian Supremo Light Roast or their Velvet Hammer Dark Roast. They also have a wide range of espressos, cold beverages, teas and pastries.
