The last Monday of May is a day of commemoration for the brave men and women who served to defend the United States of America. Because of its importance, many Americans have Memorial Day off from work. This year, celebrate at these Long Island bars, but keep in mind the fallen military men and women who made it possible for you to do so.

Memorial Day is a harbinger of the summer, and that means the weather is finally warming up. We’ve had an unpredictable spring in terms of weather, so it’s time to get outside! And you can do just that at the Clubhouse of New Hyde Park, located at the Spring Rock Golf Center. With a simple yet mouthwatering American food menu and a huge wraparound patio, the Clubhouse is the perfect spot for a Memorial Day celebration.

The Mets are playing every day on Memorial Day weekend, and the games are sure to be broadcasted on many of the Park Sports Bar & Grill’s 40 flat screen TVs. Beer, baseball and wings—it doesn’t get much more American than that.
