Guten tag, New Yorkers! For anyone who’s ever longed to be a part of Europe’s premier fall festival but can’t afford to make the trip, listen up! Oktoberfest is finally coming to New York City! Oktoberfest NYC aims to be a true taste of authentic Munich on the banks of Manhattan’s famous East River.

Oktoberfest NYC Comes to Town

The Event Particulars

For three weekends this fall (September 17-18, 24-25 and October 1-2), Oktoberfest NYC will be up and running. Each day from noon to midnight, Watermark (Pier 15) on South Street will be the site of extraordinary seasonal entertainment (By the way, admission is completely free, too!).

Three of Germany’s biggest beer companies (Radeberger Pilsner, Hofbräuhaus München and Weihenstephan) are sponsoring and supplying the event with flowing draughts.

Not a beer-drinker? Don’t worry! Families are welcome, too! Besides alcohol, there will be plenty of delicious German dishes, live music and fun games for everyone to enjoy.

Some of the games and activities will include:

  • Ping Pong
  • Foosball
  • Face Painting

You can reserve your Oktoberfest NYC passes and purchase beer tasting tickets here.

Oktoberfest’s Best Eats

It’s no secret that the biggest draw for any Oktoberfest festival around the world is all of the incredible, authentic German delicacies that come along with it. People seem to think German food is best served in an open-air setting on picnic tables with giant beer steins to wash it all down with.

You can expect to enjoy some of these German favorites:

  • Bratwurst
  • Pretzels
  • Schnitzel
  • Brisket
  • Potato dishes
  • Strudel
  • German Cake

There will be a wide selection of alternate food options on hand, as well as plenty of non-alcoholic beverages.

A unique feature of this festival is that everything on the menu will be sold for the affordable price of $8, and that includes the beer, too! (Note: 1 liter beer steins will be sold for just $16.)

All food and drinks must be purchased with unique festival tickets. To accommodate the guest’s demand, ticket stations will be located conveniently throughout the grounds. Make sure you have cash though, just to be on the safe side.

Grab your finest lederhosen and clogs and head out to Watermark for three weekends of fun and celebration this fall at Oktoberfest NYC!
