This Tuesday, on the 4th of July, we come together as a nation to celebrate 241 years of independence in America. With everyone off from work and schools out, there will be plenty of fun, patriotic events for the whole family. No matter what, you always have to make sure that you check out a fireworks show. Here are a few events where 4th of July fireworks will be on full display.
The Best 4th of July Fireworks on Long Island 2017
A few days before Independence Day, TD Bank will host a spectacular fireworks show and concert, called “Celebrate America,” on Saturday, July 1, at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theater in East Meadow’s Eisenhower Park.
Gates for the event will open at 5:30 p.m., although the fireworks show, presented by the Grucci family, is not expected to commence until nightfall, around 9:30 p.m. Don’t forget to bring blankets and chairs for the whole family, as there is no formal seating for the event.
The night’s entertainment will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a performance from Lamar Peters and his Ultimate Elvis Tribute. Afterwards, Idol Kings, a Journey and John Mellencamp tribute band, will take the stage.
Remember, this is a ticketed event. But don’t worry, you can pick up free tickets at any TD bank location across Long Island!
July 4th Fireworks Spectacular
One of the holiday’s most attended and publicized events on Long Island happens every year at Jones Beach State Park in Wantagh. This is the July 4th Fireworks Spectacular, presented and hosted by Astoria Bank.
Come out a little bit before nightfall and reserve your spot on the sand at the Field 4 beachfront. You can bring all of the essentials that you’d take on a typical beach day, but, instead of swimming, you’ll be watching fantastic, multicolored fireworks while patriotic ballads play in the background.
Because so many people attend every year, parking and traffic can be an absolute nightmare. So, consider leaving rides up to the professionals for the evening and take an All Island Transportation taxi.
Annual Rockville Centre Fireworks Show
For 24 years straight, the Village of Rockville Centre has held a fireworks show in the beginning of July. It celebrates the anniversary of the village’s founding with a patriotic theme meant to commemorate Independence Day as well.
This year, the show will take place on Saturday, July 8, at Centennial Park on the banks of Mill River. It’s wise to get to the park early, around 7 p.m., so you can see the exciting South Shore Symphony perform.
Then, once it’s dark out, the fireworks will commence. The best part about the whole event is that it’s completely free!
Don’t miss out on breathtaking 4th of July fireworks displays this year. Be sure to check out these amazing Long Island events!
