Because we live on Long Island, we’re completely surrounded by water on all sides. Combine this with the fact that Long Island also has a vibrant, world class food scene and you’ll soon discover the endless number of delicious waterfront restaurants. Here are a few of our favorite places nearby that are as tasty as they are scenic.

The Best Waterfront Restaurants on Long Island

Salt

Merrick’s Salt, one of Nassau County’s newest waterfront restaurants, seamlessly combines modern American cuisine with fresh seasonal cocktails in a casual atmosphere. Whether you’re traveling by boat or car, this is the perfect place for brunch, lunch, dinner and especially happy hour.

What to Expect

Come by and unwind with a cocktail in the lounge or on the deck, which is complete with tasteful nautical-themed décor. Most nights, Salt hosts performances by local musicians looking to entertain and please patrons.

If you stop by anytime soon for a meal, make sure that you try a few of their signature menu selections like:

  • Lobster Corn Dog
  • Australian Lamb Rack
  • Faroe Island Salmon
  • Spaghetti Squash Primavera
  • Fried Clam Roll

Sunday Brunch

Besides lunch and dinner, Salt is fairly well-known for their Sunday brunches, which take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Here, you will be able to enjoy a meal and cocktails under the morning sun. You’ll also be able to taste unbeatable dishes like Glazed Donut Waffles, Lobster Hash Brown and House-Cured Salmon.

Since Salt is one of our area’s most popular restaurants, be sure to make a reservation well enough in advance.

Parkside Café

Head out to Seaford and visit the Parkside Café, a restaurant nestled alongside a picturesque offshoot canal. Whether you choose to sit in the dining room or on the patio, you will be treated to an unbelievable meal with unparalleled views of the Seaford waterfront.

Some of their best, most popular dishes include:

  • Colorado Rack of Lamb
  • Kona Brown Sugar Crusted Ribeye
  • Sesame Crusted Yellowfin Tuna
  • Caribbean Spiced Rubbed Mahi
  • Flat Iron Steak

Enjoy your meal with a fine glass of wine like Beaulieu Vineyard Pinot Noir, Marquis De La Tour Brut or Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio. After dinner, make sure you try one of their desserts like Key Lime Pie or Chocolate Decadence.

The Clubhouse

The Clubhouse in Bellmore is one of Long Island’s most enjoyable waterfront restaurants. This Caribbean-themed restaurant will provide an experience that you won’t find anywhere else. From palm trees, beach chairs, sand and even some fun lawn games, what else could you ask for in a restaurant?

The Clubhouse also has a huge drink menu with wines, beers and liquors. However, most people opt for one of their signature cocktails like the Dark and Stormy Mojito or Coconut Margarita.

You’ll be able to enjoy these cocktails accompanied by dishes like:

  • Jamaican Jerk Chicken Panini
  • Fig and Prosciutto Pizza Flat
  • Elote-Loco Mexican Street Corn
