St. Patrick's Day party

Commonly known as the biggest party day of the year, St. Patrick’s Day is almost here. Luckily, this year the holiday falls on a Friday, which also happens to be the first weekend of the March Madness college basketball tournament- so expect tons of action. Check out this guide to find a St. Patrick’s Day party for you.

Finding a St. Patrick’s Day Party for Everyone

Cannon’s Blackthorn

One of Rockville Centre’s most popular bar and grilles, Cannon’s Blackthorn, will be changing up their menu and replacing all of their usual offerings with St. Patrick’s Day themed dishes.

If a la carte isn’t your thing, you can order from their special three-course prix fixe meal for $19.95. It comes with a choice of a house or Caesar salad for your first course, followed by corned beef and cabbage with boiled potatoes and then a rice pudding sundae for dessert.

Their St. Patrick’s Day menu will also feature tasty appetizers like Dublin Cheddar potato croquettes and corned beef and cabbage egg rolls. For an entrée, the options include:

  • Guinness beef stew
  • Dublin Cheddar whiskey burger
  • Over stuffed corned beef sandwich
  • Shepherd’s Pie

For dessert, make sure you try apple pie a la mode or their signature bread pudding. When dinner is all finished up, hang around and grab an Irish cocktail or two.

Bayview Tavern

This March 17, head over to  Bayview Tavern in Seaford for a day full of delicious Irish fare, drinks and fun. If you decide to swing by for lunch, seating for their prix fixe meal starts at 2 p.m. and includes a complimentary cocktail or beer.

For starters, you can have either potato leek soup or mussels simmered in Irish ale and cream. Entrée options include corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie and fish and chips. Dessert will be Irish whiskey bread pudding.

Later in the evening is when the real celebration starts. There will be great specials and happy hour prices all day, including these more prominent deals:

  • $5 pints of Guinness and Harp
  • $3 corned beef sandwiches
  • $6.95 traditional Irish platters

The Wantagh Pipe & Drum Band will also be making an appearance around 5 p.m. to provide spirited sounds for the evening. Call ahead to reserve your spot.

Wantagh Inn

Across from the train station, off of Sunrise Highway, the Wantagh Inn will be hosting a day full of St. Patrick’s Day festivities on March 17. From noon until 11 p.m., they will be offering their special Irish menu that includes favorites like:

  • Irish smoked salmon
  • Broiled filet of salmon
  • Grilled sirloin steak
  • Baked chicken pot pie

There will be unique Irish desserts like Bailey’s Cream cheese cake and Carlow apple pie. Younger diners may order from a children’s menu if they so choose.

St. Patrick's Day party

The night would not be complete without some live music, which will start around 5 p.m. Guinness will be flowing from open to close, so make sure you stop by for a pint.

One of the best aspects of the holiday is attending a massive St. Patrick’s Day party. This year, make your plans ahead of time and choose one of these great options. No matter where you go, stay safe by calling All Island for all of your transportation needs.
