It doesn’t get much better, or more picturesque, than springtime on Long Island! With winter behind us and summer just a few months away, the weather is perfectly balanced to accommodate a ton of fun events and festivities. Make the most of this season by checking out these spring activities with your family.

Enjoyable Spring Activities for the Whole Family

Eisenhower Park

Sandwiched between Old Country Road and Hempstead Turnpike, Eisenhower Park, a namesake of our 34th president, occupies over 930 acres of sprawling green in the heart of East Meadow.

Since 1944, it has been one of Long Island’s go-to hotspots for family time, leisure and activity. It’s not hard to see why. Eisenhower Park features so many great amenities, including:

  • Tennis courts
  • Athletic fields
  • Twin Rinks Ice Center
  • Nassau County Aquatic Center
  • Three 18-hole golf courses, including a driving range
  • Miniature golf
  • Henry Chapin Lakeside Theater
  • Veterans Memorial and Wall of Honor
  • 9/11 Memorial honoring Nassau County residents

It’s also the home of Carltun on the Park, a former country club turned restaurant. It has a full bar, banquet hall and even a meeting room. Now, that’s something you wouldn’t find in any average park, right?

The Nautical Mile

On the south shore of Freeport, the Nautical Mile takes up all of Woodcleft Avenue, just west of the Woodclift Canal. This stretch of waterfront real estate is home to some of Long Island’ best, most authentic seafood restaurants, including:

  • Jeremy’s Ale House
  • Hudson’s on the Mile
  • EB Elliot’s
  • Bracco’s Clam and Oyster

On just about any night of the week, you’ll be more than likely to find live musical entertainment for you to enjoy during your meal. But restaurants aren’t the only thing the Nautical Mile has to offer; there are also plenty of unique, quaint boutique shops and bars, too.

Finish the night off with a round at The Crow’s Nest Mini Golf course and a few scoops from the old-fashioned ice cream shop next door for a delicious dessert.

Along with your group, you need to investigate and brainstorm a way to escape the locked room. It’s ideal for dates, family bonding, birthday parties and team building! The different rooms even have varying skills levels so you can choose the setup that works best for your team.
