On April Fool’s Day, people play hysterical jokes on friends, family and coworkers. Those jokes are even funnier when they’re recorded and uploaded on the Internet for the world to see. To showcase some of the most amusing April Fool’s pranks, All Island Transportation has put together this list.

A Brief History of April Fool’s Day

There’s no real consensus as to the origin of April Fool’s Day. However, many historians seem to think that it began after France adopted the Gregorian calendar in the 16th century, which changed the date of New Year’s Day from April 1 to January 1. People who still celebrated New Year’s Day on April 1 were labeled “April fools” and became the subjects of all sorts of gags. While this theory marks France as the birthplace of April Fool’s Day, the English were the ones who took pranks to the next level during the 18th century.
